Understanding Purium’s Product Transition Updates
During a recent community training call, Purium founder Dave Sandoval shared an important update regarding several product transitions within the Purium lineup. While the changes may feel significant to long-time customers, Dave explained that these decisions are part of maintaining product quality, managing manufacturing realities, and focusing the company’s resources on the products that serve the community best.
Why Certain Products Are Being Discontinued
Dave shared that roughly 20 to 22 products are being discontinued due primarily to low sales volume and the challenges that come with small-batch manufacturing. Even though Purium operates as a small-batch company, each production run still requires manufacturing large quantities of product and sourcing significant amounts of raw ingredients. In many cases, ingredients must be purchased in minimum quantities large enough to produce several batches at once. If those products are not selling quickly enough, inventory can sit too long and approach expiration.
Rather than continue producing products that only sell in small quantities each month, Purium has chosen to simplify the lineup and focus on the products most people already use regularly. This allows the company to allocate resources more efficiently and continue developing new formulations.
What Happens to Existing Subscriptions
Customers who currently have discontinued products on subscription will still receive them while inventory lasts. Once supply is depleted, the product will automatically be removed from subscriptions.
Customers are encouraged to review the Product Transition Guide, which outlines recommended alternatives for each discontinued product. The guide is available inside the Digital Marketing Kit and provides a simple way to adjust product choices moving forward.
Newer Products Being Highlighted
Dave also shared excitement about some of the newer additions to the Purium lineup, including:
Alpha Omega
A vegan source of omega fatty acids designed to support overall health, including brain, skin, heart, and nervous system support.
Sleep Nightly
A new sleep-support formula created to help promote deeper rest. Dave shared that early customer testimonials have been extremely positive, especially for people looking for an alternative to tart cherry for sleep support.
Ingredient and Supply Challenges
One example Dave gave involved organic tart cherries, which experienced a major supply disruption due to severe weather conditions affecting multiple growing regions. Because Purium only uses organic ingredients, the company had to purchase cherries at significantly higher prices to continue supplying customers.
Situations like this illustrate how ingredient sourcing can impact product availability and pricing. By consolidating the product line, Purium can maintain its commitment to quality sourcing while keeping the company financially sustainable.
Finding the Right Replacement Products
Throughout the training, Dave walked through many examples of how customers can transition from discontinued products to alternatives already available in the lineup. In many cases, newer products provide similar or expanded nutritional benefits.
The goal of the transition is not simply removing products but helping customers continue receiving the benefits they rely on using updated solutions within the Purium ecosystem.
A Continued Focus on Solutions
Dave closed the call by reminding the community that Purium’s mission remains the same: helping people address modern health challenges such as environmental toxins, nutrient deficiencies, and digestive issues through clean, plant-based nutrition.
With a streamlined product lineup and new innovations on the horizon, Purium continues working toward its goal of providing practical health solutions for people around the world.
