Why Purium? Understanding Food Wellness and Your True Potential
More than 30 years ago, Dave Sandoval and Amy Venner started sharing an idea that was much less mainstream than it is today, with a focus on purity and nutrient density in addition to holistic and naturopathic principles. Our philosophy is, “the quality of food you eat is equal to the quality of life you live.”
At the time, Dave was promoting a lifestyle built around holistic nutrition, living foods and what has become known as the Purium lifestyle. Dave feels blessed to have learned from some of the pioneers in the field who were willing to share their knowledge with him, and Dave was eager to share that knowledge with others.
Amy was one of the people who listened. “Dave introduced me to this lifestyle,” Amy shared during a recent Sunday conversation about Purium. “He was passionate about it. The changes that happened in my body were so profound that I just couldn’t keep it in. So I joined him, and more than two decades later, thousands have joined us.” That simple act of sharing is still at the heart of how Purium grows.
It Started With Pure Food
Dave remembers a time when his caring so passionately about pure food made him feel outside of the mainstream. He compares those early years to the familiar video of one person dancing alone at a festival. At first everyone watches the crazy guy dancing. Then someone joins him. Then another. Pretty soon, there is a crowd.
“I was that crazy guy dancing all alone. Amy was that person who trusted that I wasn’t so crazy, and maybe other people needed to know what I knew.” — Dave Sandoval
Today, thousands of people are connected to Purium, but the common thread hasn’t changed. “We care about pure food,” Dave said. “We care about food safety. We care about having a lifestyle that makes our life better.” That belief became the philosophy Amy and Dave still talk about every day. The quality of food you eat is equal to the quality of life you live. It isn’t just a tagline. It is the idea they built Purium around.
Knowing Who Makes Your Food Matters
One of the things Amy and Dave are most proud of is that Purium is the manufacturer. Purium chooses and sources its farmers and its suppliers. They not only source the ingredients, they formulate, manufacture, test and package each product. Amy was actually speaking from Purium’s corporate offices and manufacturing facility during the conversation. “One of the things that we are the most proud of is that we are the manufacturer,” she said. Dave put it another way.
“When was the last time you went into a store and met the owner? When was the last time you could ask the owner where something was grown, how it was processed or why it was made?” — Dave Sandoval
That connection between the people making the food and the people eating it matters to them. So does making high-quality nutrition practical enough to use every day. Amy described four things Purium is designed to deliver: Convenience. Access. Value. Consistency. The products arrive at your door. They provide access to organic superfoods and ingredients that may be difficult to source individually. And they make it easier to nourish your body consistently. That is also why Purium’s flagship Ultimate Lifestyle Transformation isn’t intended to be something you do and then leave behind.
“It is a 12-week reset that leads into an everyday lifestyle.” — Amy Venner
The goal isn’t to eat differently for a few weeks. The goal is to begin living differently.
Why a Brand Partner Model?
This is where the product story and the Purium opportunity come together. Purium wasn’t always a direct-selling company. More than 20 years ago, Amy and Dave made the decision to move away from traditional wholesale and retail distribution. They had seen how much money went toward distributors, retail margins, shelf space and advertising. Eventually, they began asking a different question: Who do we want to invest in? Their answer was people.
“We wanted to reward people who were having a true and authentic product experience and then paying that forward,” Amy explained. Instead of putting layers of traditional retail between Purium and the person using the products, they built a model around something people already do naturally. We recommend restaurants. We tell friends about movies. We share the name of a great hairstylist. We talk about things that make our lives better. Purium created a way for someone to be rewarded when sharing something they genuinely value and help connect another person to it.
People Join People
That phrase came up again and again during Amy and Dave’s conversation. People join people. Amy’s own story is a perfect example. She didn’t begin as CEO of Purium. She began as someone who trusted Dave, experienced the lifestyle for herself and wanted other people to know about it.
“I was one person that the fire got lit in,” Amy said. “Then we became two people sharing this message with the world.” That same progression continues today: Experience it. Believe in it. Feel aligned with it. Share it. Many Purium Brand Partners started as customers. They weren’t looking for a business. They experienced something they valued and eventually found themselves telling other people.
What Does a Brand Partner Actually Do?
Amy answered that question very simply. A Brand Partner: Shares their story. Invites someone to experience Purium. Helps them find the right place to start. Follows up. Connects them to the Purium community. That’s it. At its best, the role isn’t about becoming a salesperson. It is about becoming a guide.
“You can completely succeed at Purium without changing who you are. Most people here have a heart to help others. That is the common ground.” — Amy Venner
The Brand Partners featured during the conversation reflected that. Sandra talked about doing it scared because someone was there holding her hand. Tia talked about relationships and connection. She had been introduced to Purium before, but ultimately said yes because of the person sharing it with her. Kimberly said she wished she had started sooner. Different people. Different stories. Different paces.
There Isn’t One Right Way to Do Purium
Not everyone wants the same thing from this opportunity. Some people love Purium and naturally share it with a few people. Some discover they really enjoy helping others begin. Some decide they want to build a significant business. Amy described it as starting wherever you are. Dave described it as crawling, walking and eventually, if you choose, running. “You find your way,” Dave said. “You create your own version of Purium to meet your lifestyle, your goals and your vision.” There is room to begin small. There is also room for your greatest potential.
A Different Definition of Wealth
The conversation eventually moved beyond products and even beyond money. What does abundance actually mean? Amy described it as more time, more freedom, more mobility and more money. Dave expanded the thought.
“Wealth is not just something you experience when you look at your bank account. Wealth is the ability to choose the life that you want to live.” — Dave Sandoval
For one person, that might mean additional income. For another, it might mean flexibility. For someone else, it might mean confidence, community, purpose or simply having more choices. Purium doesn’t tell you what your life should look like. Purium allows you to build the life you have always wanted.
And Then There Is Community
Products may be how someone first discovers Purium, but they aren’t the entire Purium experience. There is education. There is guidance. There are relationships. There is a community of people learning, growing and sharing what living the Purium lifestyle looks like in real life. That is why Amy and Dave created the new Purium Community on Facebook, a place where people can hear stories, watch videos, ask questions and get to know the people behind Purium. Amy and Dave are not a distant owner or a faceless corporation. They are the inspiration for the Purium brand, they are your Brand Partner, and they are an active part of the Purium community.
Maybe Someone Thought of You
Someone thought about you- that is why you are reading this. Maybe they thought about your health. Maybe they thought you would connect with Purium’s food philosophy. Maybe they thought you would love the community. Maybe they see something in you that would help you thrive as a Purium Brand Partner. Or maybe they simply thought Purium was something you should know about. That you never know where it could lead. It started with a conversation, with an invitation to learn about Purium and experience the products.
More than 30 years ago, Dave shared something he believed in with Amy. One person became two. And sometimes that is exactly how something much bigger begins. People join people.
