Wednesday Health Spotlight with Dave Sandoval: Neurodiversity Support

Dave Sandoval’s Neurodiversity Support call was both personal and educational, offering a compassionate look at autism and the broader neurodiverse spectrum through the lens of lived experience. Early in the presentation, Dave reflected on his own childhood, sharing that he was once labeled hyperactive and misunderstood in school. Rather than viewing neurodiversity as a disorder to be fixed, he encouraged listeners to see it as a variation in human wiring, one that can come with remarkable gifts. He emphasized that every person on the spectrum is unique, yet many share traits such as deep focus, unconventional creativity, strong pattern recognition, and an ability to process information differently than neurotypical individuals.

At the same time, Dave acknowledged the very real challenges that many neurodiverse individuals and their families face. He described sensory sensitivity, self-regulating behaviors, dependence on routine, and sleep difficulties as important realities that deserve empathy and understanding. He explained how disruptions to a familiar pattern can trigger emotional outbursts, withdrawal, or overwhelm, and encouraged caregivers to pay close attention to rhythms, especially sleep patterns, because restful sleep can significantly affect regulation and behavior throughout the day.

A major focus of the talk was the gut-brain connection. Dave explained that the relationship between digestion, nutrition, and brain function can be especially important for those on the spectrum. He pointed to common micronutrient deficiencies, including zinc, vitamin D, and magnesium, and suggested that restricted diets, gut dysbiosis, and toxin exposure may create unnecessary obstacles for neurodiverse individuals. His message centered on removing those obstacles, not changing who someone is. In his view, supporting the body through better nourishment and gut health may help create a stronger foundation for emotional balance, sleep, focus, and expression.

Dave then walked through the five products in Purium’s Neurodiversity Pack, explaining the purpose of each one. He highlighted Chill Spray as a tool for promoting calm and helping interrupt negative mental loops, especially during moments of overwhelm. He described Sleep Nightly as a blend designed to support the nervous system and encourage deeper, more restorative sleep. Zinc Aid was presented as a whole food multinutrient formula aimed at addressing common deficiencies, while Green Spectrum was positioned as a concentrated greens formula to support nourishment, detoxification, and alkalinity. Finally, he called Biomedic the most important product in the pack, explaining its intended role in helping bind and eliminate glyphosate, support gut integrity, and reduce inflammatory burden.

Throughout the call, Dave returned to one central theme: neurodiverse individuals do not need to be fixed, but they may benefit from better support. He spoke with conviction about creating an environment where strengths can flourish and unnecessary burdens can be reduced. He also shared stories of hope, including examples of individuals once thought to be nonverbal who later found ways to communicate and express themselves. His closing message was simple and memorable: neurodiverse people are not broken, they are different, and with understanding, nourishment, and the right support, new possibilities can open.
